This therapeutic system is used for the treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a condition that occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in a deep vein in the body, usually in the legs. DVT is a serious condition because the blood clot may break loose, travel through the bloodstream to an artery in the lungs, and block blood flow. This is called a pulmonary embolism and is life-threatening. Major risk factors include old age, surgery, trauma, and inactivity such as sitting, bed rest, or hospitalization.

Landing Qomo’s Intermittent Pneumatic Compression System has two calf sleeves with two inflatable bags in each. Through inflating these bags, a pressure gradient is created in the leg, thereby increasing venous blood circulation and reducing blood stasis. This pressure helps clear blood vessels of coagulation factors and thus prevents DVT.

The system also comes with inflatable straps for the palms and soles.

  • Inflation Pressure: adjustable between 20-60 mmHg (upper and lower limbs); adjustable between 120-140 mmHg (palms, soles of feet)
  • 3 modes of operation: slow, medium, fast
  • Built-in pressure protection system: if pressure reaches 13.3 kPa (100 mmHg), the system automatically stops operating and deflates the air bags.
  • Air bags’ maximum pressure: 26.7 kPa
  • Noise: ≤50 dB (A-weighted); suitable for use in ICU/OT rooms
  • FDA-cleared
  • CE-marked
